Practical Strategies to Vent Anger

Whenever we feel like we’re exhausted and we are feeling raged with anger either from our family members, relatives or friends or even from our workplace.
The following strategies could be of benefit :

🤔

Take a moment
It’s not easy to use part of the brain that is good at sorting out the problems at the same time of being angry at someone. So we need to take a moment to calm ourselves down.

Then we could come back to discuss whatever is the cause of the issues, that time we would have vent our anger.

Secondly, we could try to hear out each other, two people cannot be right at the same time, we need to listen to each other’s views. If not, the anger will increase. Therefore, we need to listen with dignity and respect.

Thirdly, we need to see the bigger picture of things. In so doing we will give each other excuses. The prophet (SAW) encouraged us to give 70 excuses to our brethren by the we do this, we shall be quite sure that we will be Forgiving one another swiftly. May Allah forgive us our shortcomings Aameen.

Then we can as well agree to disagree. Sometimes, it might be helpful to just accept that you hold different views on matters, then accept the other person for who they are.

Lastly, if you are still stuck with your emotions, sometimes you might need a professional intervention. Arguments could be very upsetting or even frightening. Remember that the prophet said “la tagdab”
Manage your anger, and learn from your mistakes.
In shaa Allah, these tips will make you stronger.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.
